You may not know this about me, but I love to stay active and try to keep in shape. I’ve purchased a few pull-up bars in the past and have been ‘mostly’ satisfied with them. While I was watching TV a couple weeks ago I saw the ad for the “Iron Gym”. It looked really appealing to me for the fact that it didn’t seem that expensive considering all that it claimed to do.  Instead of rushing to grab my check card I decided to wait. About 3 days after that commercial I was walking around Target and happened to see one there. They were selling it at a really good price around $30, so I had to buy it and try it.

I got it home, and almost immediately began trying to put it together, which, by the way, wasn’t difficult. I read all the directions “blah, blah, blah” and put it on my door frame like it showed and put the metal clip up there. At first when I went to pull myself up there I was skeptical that it would fall. I don’t know why, but I just felt like there was a chance. So the first pull-up I did was nice and slow too make sure it was completely secure, which it turned out it was. It actually is very secure. I’ve tried all sorts of different pull-ups on there and the bar doesn’t even budge. All you need to make sure of is that you have a nice secure door frame to place the Iron Gym on.

I’ve had the Iron Gym for over a week and a half now and it’s been working great. For $30 bucks or so, I couldn’t ask for a better piece of workout equipment. I love it. They advertise it as being good for “Tricep Dips, Pull-ups, Push-ups, and Sit-ups”. I’d have to rate it as the following:

Pullups: 9.5/10
Pushups: 8/10
Situps: 7/10
Tricep Dips: 3/10

Everything pretty much works great except for the Tricep Dips. They are not very useful considering you aren’t very elevated from the ground. I assume that if you elevate your feet it would help a little bit.

I would highly recommend that anyone who wants to keep in shape and likes doing pullups try out the Iron Gym. You can purchase it here for the lowest price I’ve found on the Net.
